Unibel

      Unibel started in 1993.
      Minsk backbone was put into operation in 1996 within the framework of Internet Project .

      Computer and Analytical Center of Ministry of education is currently developing and operating Unibel network.

      Unibel provides a wide variety of Internet services in accordance with the license ¹02140/0184749 issued by the Ministry of Communications.

      Unibel has 7 network nodes in Minsk interconnected by 100 Mb/s channels. There are also 3 points of presence in Belarusian regional centers (Brest, Grodno, Gomel) hooked up to the Minsk Unibel backbone with digital channels.

      Connection to the Internet is provided by BelPak (official provider of Ministry of Communications) at speed 19 Mb/s.

      Unibel is registered in RIPE Network Coordination Center database and assigned autonomous system AS5498.

      Basic list of services includes

      • dial-up connection via the public telephone network,
      • permanent connection via physical non-switched and digital channels,
      • Web hosting and e-mail services.


      Unibel rents 40 telephone lines and has totally 343 ports including ISDN.

      Today Unibel provides more than 80 non-commercial organizations with access to the Internet.
